Caramelized Banana Cake (Chè Chuối Cake)

The caramelized banana cake is the most sought-after cake at Much Joy Bakehouse. This fluffy, moist cake is baked with caramelized bananas, drizzled with coconut icing, and sprinkled with roasted sesame seeds. Inspired by the sweet Vietnamese dessert chè chuối from their youth growing up in San Jose, baker and owner Cat Vo was excited to find a way to combine Vietnamese flavors with American-style desserts. 

The chè chuối cake is one of Much Joy Bakehouse's signature cakes inspired by Southeast Asian flavors. 

Tips to enjoy: this cake can be enjoyed at room temperature or even heated up to mimic the texture and feel of chè chuối!
